Rivermine Software Rates "Positive" in 2005 MarketScope: Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Research
TEM Market to Grow to $1.2 Billion in 2008

Fairfax, VA, February 28, 2005 - Rivermine Software - a leading business applications provider for telecommunications management - announced it received a "Positive" rating in leading analyst firm Gartner's 2005 MarketScope: Telecom Expense Management (TEM) report. Gartner forecasts that the North American TEM market will grow from $500 million in revenue in 2004 to $1.2 billion in 2008. The TEM market encompasses software and services to acquire, provision, and support corporate telecommunications.

The vendors identified for the TEM MarketScope were chosen by Gartner from a base of 100 companies servicing North America. Evaluation criteria included invoice management, allocation/chargeback, order and provisioning management, customer service and support, price and pricing methodology, financial viability, and scope of offering (wireline, voice and data, mobile). Rivermine CEO Mark Logan said, "Rivermine was among 12 companies chosen to be reviewed in Gartner's TEM MarketScope. We believe this is confirmation for our Fortune 1000 clients who chose Rivermine's unique inventory-powered solution to help manage their global networks, including telecom expense management, process compliance, and network analysis."

"Although TEM has a very high return on investment, most organizations do not adequately manage their telecommunications resources," said Logan. "Rivermine solves the TEM challenge by automating the process of receiving, auditing, and paying the bills, which streamlines cost allocations, ensures more accurate invoice payments, and strengthens contract negotiations."

The Gartner MarketScope "Positive" rating means that a vendor demonstrates strength in specific areas, but is largely opportunistic; customers are advised to continue incremental investments; and potential customers should put the vendor on a shortlist of tactical alternatives for their TEM solutions.
