Rivermine Software Holds Second Annual Enterprise Telecommunications Management Summit
Gartner, Sodexho, Agere Systems, Marriott, and MCI Among Speakers Covering Telecom Expense Management and Carrier Relationships
Washington, D.C., June 09, 2005 - Successfully managing the growing complexities and cost of telecommunications for network-centric enterprises was the focus of a one-day summit hosted by Rivermine Software at the National Press Club on May 20, 2005. The second annual Summit on Enterprise Telecommunications Management attracted 100 attendees from more than 50 Fortune 1000 companies, government agencies, and telecom carriers.
The event took an inside look at telecommunications management including best practices for telecom expense management and carrier relationships. The Summit was co-hosted by BearingPoint. "Getting a handle on telecom acquisition, provisioning and management is a demonstrable way to enhance the overall business performance of today's large organizations," said Mark Logan, Rivermine Software's CEO. "That's why companies such as Agere Systems, Sodexho, and Marriott International have implemented Rivermine Software's inventory-powered solution that controls the full lifecycle of telecom management."
The carrier's changing role in supporting telecom management was also a focus of the day's agenda. Gartner's vice president and research director, David Neil, opened the Summit with an overview of the networking industry. He noted that the global telecom industry has stabilized after five years of restructuring but due to non-traditional competitors, the telecom industry will see even greater structural changes ahead.
In an afternoon panel with representatives from Marriott International, CKE Restaurants, MCI, and Rivermine, Neil moderated a discussion on "Improving Communications with the Telco". MCI spokesperson, Michael Tusa, senior manager of e-Business Applications, said, "MCI is working with companies like Rivermine to deploy connectivity solutions that will automate and streamline business processes for customers. By enabling customer systems to electronically link to MCI's systems, businesses can gain more efficiency with their administrative and operational functions, providing a win-win proposition for customer and carrier."
Rivermine's expense, process, and analytical software solution provides an intuitive and unified way to view, manage, and control nearly all aspects of telecommunications management. It integrates many cumbersome tasks such as ordering and provisioning, telecommunications analysis and planning, and invoice processing, auditing, and payment.
