Rivermine Software Taps Industry Veteran for VP of Marketing Position and Ramps Partnership Efforts
John Shea Brings Success in Growing Technology Products and Companies; Rivermine Co-founder Doug Rutherford Now VP of Business Development

Fairfax, VA, September 13, 2005 - Continuing to raise the bar on its innovative marketing efforts, Rivermine Software, a leading business applications provider for enterprise telecommunications management (ETM) today announced the appointment of John Shea, a seasoned technology executive, as vice president of marketing.

"John's ability to grow a company through top-notch marketing has been proven many times over," said Mark Logan, CEO of Rivermine Software. "Adding John to our management team couldn't have happened at a better time. His leadership will help to ensure that our products provide the maximum value to customers while further strengthening Rivermine's position within the exploding enterprise telecom management marketplace."

Shea's responsibilities at Rivermine will include managing all product and corporate marketing programs, including building a comprehensive marketing team and leading efforts to shape the future direction of the Rivermine solution set. "Rivermine is a well-funded, fast growing company with products that provide a clear return on investment for customers," said Shea. "I'm looking forward to helping take the company to the next level."

With more than 15 years of technology experience, Shea served as vice president of product marketing, management and corporate strategy for Nuance, a leading provider of enterprise and carrier voice automation solutions. Shea helped grow the company from four live customers to more than 1,000 during his six-year tenure. He was also heavily involved in Nuance's successful initial public offering. Earlier in his career, Shea served on the initial Intel Pentium Processor marketing team that helped ramp product shipments from zero to more than 10 million units per quarter in two years. He has also held marketing and technical positions at OnLive Technologies and Booz, Allen & Hamilton.

Logan also announced that former vice president of marketing, Doug Rutherford, has been named vice president of strategic business development. Rutherford, a company co-founder, was instrumental in building Rivermine's marketing program since the company's inception in 2001. "Doug's knowledge of both the telecom management industry and Rivermine customers' needs will bring added depth to our new business development initiatives," said Logan.

It integrates many cumbersome tasks such as service ordering and provisioning, telecom analysis and planning, and invoice processing, auditing, and payment.
